Here is my very simple birthday layout. It actually uses a page map and a spelled out number, but I am still going to try to do these challenges separately since I am going to a weekend scrapping retreat this weekend coming up. Can't wait! I also am loving all of the other layouts and cards. Super creative ladies.

Also, does anyone have any tips on sewing on layouts? I used a stitch stamp on this layout, but I almost got out my machine to give it a try. How does one stitch towards the middle of a 12x12 page? I haven't figured that out.

Enough chat-here is my layout.

Wendy

Simple yet great layout Wendy!

I use my sewing machine at times. I would more if I had a spot to keep it in. I have to get it out each time I use it so don't when I want to sometimes. It really isn't that hard at all. Just take some scrap papers to test out a bit then give it a go!

I have enough room where my needle goes down & the side of the machine where I can do the whole layout - just sometimes have to go from the other side or do it upside down, etc...

Love it ladies, great work!!

And thanks for the sewing tips Amy... I REALLY want to do more of this technique! Even have a new machine all ready to go. I don't have a place to set mine up either, so it's a pain to pull it out and stuff.

Very cute layout, Wendy! I tend to use either rubons or stamps for stitching. Leah sews on her layouts all the time - maybe she'll see this and add a few comments...

Oh a couple more things I thought about. I had to adjust the tension on mine because of paper being different than material so the bobbin thread would be right on the bottom. It just took a few times to get that right. Also you might need to buy a smaller needle than what comes with the machine as the holes show up more in paper than material.
